I saved a good deal of money using uShip services. My 5th wheel trailer was professionally shipped and delivered. No surprise fees or charges. This was my first experience as a shipper and I used the services of a first time to uShip provider. The ONLY problem that I had was the difficulty of getting comfortable with my provider prior to accepting his bid. New providers have no feedback and are not allowed to provide feedback until after their bid is accepted. Perhaps uShip has done something to address this issue, but as a first time user I am not aware of what it is. It would be very helpful if uShip would do an initial reference verification (non-binding) and include some sort of statement (with disclaimer) in the shipper's profile. Something like "uShip has contacted a dealer that says they utilize this provider's services and they report that they have used his services in the past and would use him again," would go a long way towards equalizing the playing field. The current system makes it hard for new providers to get established. Still, on a positive note, uShip controls on the "buy it now" option and their provider activity and performance indicators are wonderfully managed. They are a real plus in the system.
