I've never used an online bidding/shipping process before. I was a little hesitant about having my motorcycle picked up by an independent shipper and someone I'd never met. All I had to go on was feedback from other people. Overall it was very good experience. Dealing with the smaller independent guys gave me a more personal feeling. I had priced around with large commercial shippers and they just have too many restrictions with the way things are packed, or residential deliveries, or picking up at their terminal, and surcharges and fees, and on and on, and they were a lot more expensive. The cheapest I got from a commercial shipper was $950 with no residential pickup or delivery and the bike had to be completely drained of all fluids and palletized in a shipping crate... what a hassle. So I'd have to buy or build a shipping crate, then get it from my brother's place 1400 miles away to some terminal somewhere in AZ? Forget it... they obviously aren't interested in working with people who just have a little shipment like mine. On uShip, I put out a shipment and agreed to a bid. The shipper picked my bike up at my brother's place, delivered it to my driveway 4 days later... couldn't be easier and very convenient. I would use uShip again.
