Three years ago, my brother in Minneapolis got "custody" of a large, heavy, wool rug which had been in the family for decades because he was the only one of us with a room long enough for the rug. This spring, my brother moved and no longer had space for the rug which he put in a storage shed. He gave me a month's notice that he was clearing out the storage unit and the rug needed a home. I was now the only one who had space--but I live in Albuquerque. I received a bid of $1000 from a regular freight line to ship the rug. I found the UShip website and decided to give it a whirl. I received a bid in about a week--for $315. The shipper coordinated pick up of the rug at the storage unit with a Minneapolis friend and delivered it to my door. He even helped move furniture so the rug could be unrolled! It was a great experience and makes me enjoy this beautiful rug even more; I'm glad we were able to keep it in the family.
