After living for many years in Southern California, I am re-locating to the Pacific Northwest to be closer to family and have an entire small household of goods to move. UShip was recommended to me and I am counting on this site to help make this easy for all of us! The plan is to ship household goods at the end of May from my apartment in the Oceanside area of north San Diego County to a ground floor storage unit in Blaine, WA. I will drive separately in my vehicle with my stoic cat and will take about a week to go up the coast. I will be present in CA for loading goods and my father will meet the shipper for unloading my stuff at the storage unit in WA. Good communication is important in order to co-ordinate meeting at the storage unit. My apartment is on the ground floor and parking is just 30 feet away. Biggest items are a 7-foot couch and two dressers. Have a few assorted smaller tables and chairs and a lot of cartons for clothing, bath, kitchen, record albums, books.
