I bought some antique furniture to complete a set before trying to figure out how to ship it from Tennessee to Texas. I didn't realize it is almost impossible to ship freight with standard carriers as an individual. My first attempt on uship, I selected a provider who had little feedback, and I didn't follow uship policies when I sent him requested MoneyGram for fuel deposit. That turned out to be a big mistake, and I ended up canceling the shipment with him (and losing the deposit). Needless to say, I was very afraid to try again.
The second time I considered only shippers who had a lot of positive feedback, and selected a shipper who turned out to be absolutely wonderful all-round. He was professional, communicative, extremely careful with my items, and arrived within minutes (yes minutes!) of our scheduled time. He even held the items for me because I was out of town during our original delivery timeframe.
Moral of my story: Follow uship guidelines, select providers with positive feedback, trust your gut, and you will have a very good experience!
