I bought a French Buffet on Craig's List on the internet. The buffet was in Orlando, Florida and I was in Birmingham, Alabama.
I was a little nervous about buying a piece of furniture without seeing it in person, I had only seen a photo jon the internet. I had to have a little faith to do the transaction since it was so far away and I didn't know the people.
I found it at 11 pm and it had only been posted for 2 days. I knew if I didn't act fast the piece would be gone quickly. I called and thank goodness nobody answered since it was midnight in Orlando. I left a message that I was interested in the buffet and I called the first thing the next morning.
The lady called me back and she sounded honest so I told her that I wanted the buffet and that I would set up a shipping company to come and pick it up.
I didn't know how to pay for it or how to get it to Birmingham. Thank goodness for the internet. I started researching payment methods and shipping companies.
The payment issue was resolved by PayPal. Turns out that we both were members of PayPal and I told her I would send the money the day it was picked up.
Next I started searching for a shipping company. I ran across an internet web site called U-Ship so I thought I would give it a try.
It was so easy to use. I described my item,
made an offer of what I would pay to have it shipped and U-Ship did the rest.
Bids started coming in almost immediately.
They even alerted me by phone when someone
had placed a bid.
When a company bid I could go online and check them out and see the feedback from other customers. That really put my mind at ease.
The next day I had 3 bids, accepted one and we were off to the races.
I chose ALB Transportation and they did a fantastic job. They exceeded my expectations.
Bottom line - U-Ship made it easy to choose a shipping company, check them out, and get the best price.
What a fantastic web-site!
