Through graduate school, I had my grandmother's antique victorian sofa in my apartment. For various reasons, I now wanted to ship it back to my parents. I had no idea how to ship one large (very precious) piece of furniture. My parents thought they would have to rent a truck and drive it from NY to GA themselves.
