I sold an engine to someone half way across the country. Price of shipping was a big factor in whether the deal would go through or not. I decided to try Uship since I already checked Fedex Freight and UPS freight and got quotes of over $400 for the same single skid. I also priced tearing the engine down and shipping in pieces and the price was around $150. This did not include my time and energy tearing the motor apart to a reasonable weight, nor does this price include packaging costs.
In a very short time, I received a quote from myfreightdirect. As far as the price, I was impressed that the first quote was really reasonable. The price was right on par and acceptable with the buyer who was paying for the shipment. I send some communications and received specific answers very quickly. The delivery terminal was only blocks away from the buyer. Another slightly lower quote came in a few days later, but I was impressed with the quick answers and fast communications that I received from myfreightdirect, so I chose them to ship.
Time was a big factor and once I accepted the offer, myfreightdirect took care of all of the paperwork and emailed everything I needed to ship the engine out the very next day.
I arrived at the terminal to drop a motor off. I walked up to the office and handed in the paperwork provided by myfreightdirect and I was told to pull out back to get unloaded. By the time I parked the vehicle, a forklift was there to unload. I walked back up to the office and all the paperwork was done, everything was explained and I was on my way out the door in less than 5 MINUTES. I have shipped small packages with UPS and FEDEX and NEVER shipped this quickly.
I would highly recommend using Uship and myfreightdirect to any first time shippers that need to move any LTL one-time shipment. I saved hundreds off of the shipping costs compared to other conventional shippers.
